OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
To disconnect, grip plug and pull from wall outlet. Never pull on cord to
disconnect.
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer, detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and
may be used if care is exercised in their use. While use of an extension cord is
not recommended, if you must use one, the marked electrical rating of the
detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as
the electrical rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the
extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord. The cord should be
arranged so that it will not hang over the counter top or tabletop where it can be
pulled by children or tripped over.
After running the motor continuously for ninety seconds, wait at least three
minutes before running the motor again.
Do not use this appliance for other than its intended use.

USING YOUR FOOD PROCESSOR
ChefscapeFood Processor Controls
“OFF” - turns the appliance off.
“ON” – turns the appliance on.
“MIN” - runs the appliance at low speed. This
speed should be used for the initial 30 seconds
of processing.
“MAX” - runs the appliance at high speed. Use
this speed for the final stages of processing.
“PULSE” - gives short bursts of power at high
speed.
SLICING, SHREDDING, or RASPING
1. Assemble the food processor by following steps 1 and 2 on page 5.
2. Select the desired slicing/shredding or rasping disc and place the appropriate
side (one side is for slicing and the other is for grating) over the disc/blade
support. CAUTION: Be extremely careful when handling the discs and blades,
they are very sharp.
3. Place the processor lid on top of the processing bowl and lock in place.
4. Cut food into equal lengths, slightly shorter than the feed tube. Note: Use the
food pusher as a cutting guide for length and width.
5. Place the cut food to be sliced or shredded in the feed tube on the processor lid.
Pack the feed tube full so food stands upright for slicing. Insert the food pusher
on top of the food pieces.
6. Plug cord into a 120-volt, AC electrical outlet ONLY.
7. Turn the control dial to “MAX.” Adjust your pressure on the food pusher
depending on the type of food used. Soft foods require less pressure, hard
foods require more pressure. When the feed tube is empty turn the control dial
to “OFF.” Refill the feed tube and repeat the slicing/shredding process.
8. When all the slicing/shredding has been completed, turn the control dial to
“OFF” and unplug from the electrical outlet.
9. Remove the processor lid and slicing/shredding disc.
10. Remove the processing bowl from the motor base. Use a plastic spatula to
scrape out any food pieces that stick to the inside of the processing bowl.
11. Clean as directed in the “Cleaning Your Food Processor” section of this manual.

touch the bottom of the processing bowl. CAUTION: Be extremely careful
when handling the chopping blade, it is very sharp.
3. Cut the food to be chopped into pieces that fit loosely in the processing bowl.
Note: You will get a more even chop if you start with pieces that are all the
same size.
4. Place the cut food into the processing bowl. You can process up to 7 cups of
solid food or 5½ cups of liquid in the processing bowl at one time. Chop food in
batches if you want to process more than 7 cups of solid food at a time.
5. Place the processor lid on top of the processing bowl and lock in place. Place
the food pusher into the feed tube. It is recommended that one hand be placed
on the processor lid while in use to provide additional stability.
6. Plug cord into a 120-volt, AC electrical outlet ONLY.
7. Turnt he control dial to “ON.” Press and release the “PULSE” button two to
three times, allowing the food pieces to drop to the bottom of the processing
bowl between pulses. For a coarse chop, pulse only a few times. Note: Watch
the food closely. With the pulse/chopping technique you can get an even chop
without over-processing the food.
8. When the desired consistency has been reached, turn the control dial to “OFF”
and unplug from the electrical outlet.
9. Remove the processor lid and chopping blade.
10. Remove the processing bowl from the motor base. Use a plastic spatula to

CLEANING YOUR FOOD PROCESSOR
Before using your ChefscapeFood Processor for the rst time and after each use,
be sure to thoroughly wash all parts, except the motor base in warm, soapy water,
rinse thoroughly and dry. To prolong the life of your appliance, do not wash parts
in the dishwasher. Reassemble the food processor and store with the lid ajar.
Store blades in a safe manner to prevent accidental injury.
CAUTION: Blades are very sharp, use extreme caution when handling and
cleaning.
HELPFUL HINTS
Cut food into approximately ¾” pieces. You will get a more even chop if you
start with pieces that are all the same size.
When chopping dry ingredients such as bread crumbs, nuts, spices, etc., make
sure the processing bowl, blades, and discs are completely dry.
The “PULSE” button should be operated in short bursts. As the “PULSE” button
is pressed and released, the blades should stop rotating between pulses.
Do not over-blend foods. Most ingredients should be properly blended or
chopped in seconds. Do not operate the motor base for longer than 90 seconds
at a time.
Soft to medium firm cheeses can be sliced, shredded, or grated through the
feed tube using the appropriate disc. Harder cheeses like parmesan must be
chopped using the chopping blade.
Fruits and vegetables should be peeled and cored if necessary. Remove large,
hard pits and seeds. Cut into ¾” pieces and process up to 1 cup at a time.
Meat, poultry, and fish should be cold but not frozen. First, cut into ¾” pieces.
Put up to ½ pound of meat in the processing bowl. Pulse or run the motor
continuously until the desired consistency. Do not run formore than 90 seconds.
Never try to remove the processor bowl and lid together as one unit, this can
damage the food processor.
Occasionally a piece of food may become wedged between the blade and the
processing bowl. If this happens, unplug the appliance, remove the processor
lid, lift the blade out carefully and remove the wedged piece. Empty the
processing bowl, reinsert the blade, replace the ingredients, and lock the lid in
place to continue processing.
